WANGANUI LIBRARY.

At the last meeting of the Directors of the Wanganui Library, a proposition was received to advance on the part of a private gentleman the sum of £350 for two years at 10 per cent, per annum towards the erection of a Library and Museum. The Directors agreed to accept the offer, and a deputation was appointed to wait on the hon. Mr Bryce to urge that a sum of £350 should be placed on the estimates as an equivalent towards the building. The deputation met the Minister on Thursday, and an answer was given of a very favorable nature. The Directors resolved to get the design of a suitable building to be erected on their section adjoining the present Institute, and as soon as the plans are ready tenders will be called for that portion which the funds will allow of being erected.— Herald.
