Present depth on bar, 10 to 11 feet at ordinary spring tides. Sir John Goode; estimated that by carrying the breakwater; 400 feet further p.ut (one-third longer than, at present), a depth, of 16 feet at ordinary spring tides, will be .under m-\ favorable circumstances. ‘ This contem-. plates much .better ■.resultßf-.as Being: probable; and the depth,, attained, at the' present length of 1200 is greatef than wisj expected.
