NITRO-GLYCERINE.
While John M’Cleary was torpedocing a well near Haymaker, Pa,, America, on Dec. 27, the well began to flow and threw the torpedo out, causing an explosion of forty-ciglit pounds of nitro-glyoerine. M’Cleary started to run as soon as he discovered that the well was about to flow. His coat-tails were cut oft as smoothly as if done by a tailor, and his back and arms wore lacerated by flying bits of stone, wood, and tin. He was thrown about 100 feet, and jumping up continued running until ho fell from fright and fatigue.
