Wakatu S.S. Launched.

The Wakatn was safely launched over the Patea breakwater on high tide today, about 1.30. It is exactly a month since she had the mishap which broke her propeller, and drifted her behind the wall. She was afterwards hauled high up, then raised with screwjaeks, placed on timber slips, and launched to-day with ease and complete success. The steamer was run up the river past the boiling-down works, by means of a sail in the south breeze ; and she is now moored opposite the bluff, to come up to the wharf in the wash of a tide. She may go to Nelson first trip. Captain Bendall superintended the launching, which was very successful, the steamer dipping deep, rising easily, and with a roll settling to her native element.
