HEBREW MEMORIAL.

An interesting ceremony took place at the grounds of the Hebrew Hospital at Baltimore, Md., on Nov. 24th, consisting of the planting of a tree as a memorial to the late President and to be known as the “Garfield Memorial Tree.” The contributions were all made by prominent Hebrews. Mr R. S. Matthews, who delivered the oration, remarked that it was unique in the history of the world that a tree should be planted by Hebrews to mark the deep attachment of the Hebrews race for a man of another race, another religion, and, it might almost be said, of altogether different associations.
