Delivered every Evening by mounted messengers —at Hawera by 7-30 o’clock, at Normanby by 8-15. at Manaia and Wairaate Plains by 8-30, and Southward at Waverley (for train) by 6 o’clock.
Tenders are called for a new building in Patea for the Bank of Australasia; to occupy the corner section opposite the. Bank of New Zealand’s new premises. The Australasian bank will have a broad Frontage to both streets, and will be two storeys high, Mr Norman appears to have made good progress in establishing local connections for the Australasian bank. The Patea steamer did not leave today, owing to the high wind from the south. Mr F. B. Jackson’s Waverley sale on Saturday comprises nearly 4,000 sheep and cattle; also the Waverley Racing privileges.
