Scab in Sale-yard.

A settler just returned from Wanganui informs us that, towards the close of Mr Jackson’s sale yesterday, some scabby sheep were discovered among the sheep in the sale-yard. This caused consternation among the buyers and sellers alike, for all the sheep were forbidden to be removed as infected sheep, and must remain three months before certificates of removal can be given. Mr Jackson’s anxiety to ensure safety is well-known ; and he had required clean certificates.

Mr Jackson’s report is that one scabby sheep was discovered in a pen, and the whole lot had to be declared infected.
