Reuter's Despatches to Fatea Daily Mail This Day. CLAIM FOR WAR INDEMNITY. RUSSIA AND TURKEY. Constantinople, Ist.—The Porte has sent a note to the Russian Government informing it that the Powers will adjudicate upon its claim to Ronraelian tribute to Turkey towards payment of war indemnity. MURDER.—A MOTHER ARRESTED. Sydney, 3rd.—The body of a boy three years old, who had been murdered was found to-day on Flagstaff Hill. The mother, a woman of French extraction, has been arrested on suspicion. DISPUTE BETWEEN LORDS AND COMMONS. COMPROMISE REJECTED. London, Ist.—lt has transpired that the Select Committee of the House of Lords has written to Mr Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, expressing its willingness not to inquire into the judicial effects of the Land Act. The Government have had the communication under consideration, but have decided that the proposed limitation of investigation of committee is inadequate to meet the views of the Cabinet. 1 ' Bradlaugh Re-elected-WHAT NEXT? London, 2nd.—Mr Bradlaugh, who was expelled from the House of Commons on the 21st ult., was to-day re-clected for Northampton over Mr Corbett. Contrary to expectation, the election passed off quietly, and no rioting occurred.
