(Remainder of awards will appear in 2nd edition to-day.) CANTERBURY GRAIN & PRODUCE MARKETS. Christchurch, March 2nd,—Continued steady trade in the grain market is reported. The business of the week corroborated the belief expressed in last week’s report that the bulk of the grain this season will be sold in the local market. Although English cablegrams advise an easier feeling, prices on this side have not been affected to a like extent. Wheat transactions during the week have continued numerous, and have been chiefly on the basis of quotations. Prime quality is quoted at 4s 4d to 4s sd, and good average at 4s 2d to 4s 4d. Oats. —Owing to the absence of oats offering just at the moment, high prices compared with previous value have been obtained for spot lots. Good milling are quoted at 2s 5d to 2s 6d, and feed at 2s 3d to 2s 4d. A parcel of fine old milling realised the top price seen for years, viz,, 2s B£d. Barley.—Prices stand at 3s 6d to 4s. Flour.’—Millers still quote £lO 10s for best brands. Oatmeal has advanced 20s per ton. Grass Seed. —The market has not altered in any degree, and lots offering find ready buyers at late rates. Retail Prices. —Fresh butter Is per lb ; cheese, 6d to lOd per lb ; beef, 2d to fid per lb; mutton, 2d to 4d per lb; lamb, 2s 6d to 3s per quarter ; pork, 6d per lb ; ham, lOd per lb ; bacon, 9d per lb.
