The new pupil teacher appointed at Patea school is Miss Ussher, daughter of Mrs Ussher, Patea. The name was erroneously reported to Wanganui as Hirst. Mr Saunders, Whenuakura, offers a large quantity of rye grass seed for sale. The Assessment Court for Patea borough is further adjourned, until a ■ judge in place of the R. M. can be appointed. Mr Wray is one of the objectors to the roll. With the exception of Victoria, New Zealand takes the lead of all the other Australasian Colonies in the production of gold.
