Town Sections at Hawera.

The sale of the property known as Mr C. Tail’s paddock was held on Tuesday by Messrs Nolan & Co., and passed off well. Sections fronting on Glover road were first offered, and brought £2O and £2l, but as the main street was approached the auctioneer declined to sell more at that price. The sections fronting High-street were then offered, the furthermost from the centre of the town bringing £4l. The next one was withdrawn at that price. Corner section fronting High-street and the new street before referred to was sold for £76 ; the opposite corner brought £BO, and the adjoining sections fronting High-street were sold at £SO, £56, £55, and £64. The corner section opposite Mr Espagne’s brought £127 10s, The house in which Mr C. Tait lives, with about a fifth of an acre, brought £230. The back sections were sold, averaging about £26. A number of lots were passed, but those sold realised about £l6oo.— Star.
