Steamer Stranded.
Wellington.—A telegram from Westport states that the steamer Wesport slipped off a snag during the night, and the hatches are under water at low tide.
Failure of Local Option.
Napier. Much indignation is expressed at notices not being duly issued for electing licensing committees. It is expected that the people will lose their right of local option.
