Messrs Fisher & Co., Auckland, are about to commence the erection of meatfreezing, preserving, and ice worksThe buildings will be three storeys in height. The freezing and cooling chambers and ice house will measure 27 x 56. The freezing machine will be one of Bell and Coleman’s patents, furnished with all the latest improvements, and will be worked by an engine of 25 horse-power. Over the freezing and ice rooms will be the tinsmith’s department and storerooms. -A. “ lift ” from the cellar to the top storey will be worked by a powerful gas engine. The company purpose establishing an agency in London, and fully expect to be large exporters of tinned meats, also of prime mess beef.
