Fatea Earn Fair. Patea Pam and Ewe Fair. Annual Ram and Ewe Fair TO BE HELD AT C. IT. Barker’s Yards, patea, ON WEDNESDAY, FEB. 15. Me C. F. Barker has received instructions to sell bj public auction, 100 2-tooth Pure Lincoln Bams 100 These Rains are from, the flock of H. JHall, Esq., Leeston, Canterbury, and are bred from imported Pure Stock on both sides—the Hams being from the flocks of Thomas Kirkharn, of Biscathorpe, and Wright, of Lincolnshire. The Sheep from the same flock gave great satisfaction to buyers last season, both on account of the fineness of their wool and soundness of their constitution. Competent judges consider the draft this year to be decidely superior. OPINIONS OF THE PRESS. The Christchurch Press speaks of them thus :—“ Export of Sheep—On Saturday afternoon one hundred Lincoln rams from the well-known flock of Mr H. J. Hall, were shipped to Patea. Mr Hall’s sheep bear deservedly so high a character, that this shipment will no doubt be highly appreciated by the district to which they have been sent.” The Lyttelton Times thus:—“ Stud Rams—On Saturday 100 stud rams from the flock of Mr H. J. Hall, of ...Ellesmere, were shipped in the ss Penguin, for Mr C. F. Barker, to Patea. The whole of the animals showed splendid wool and symmetry. Also, On account of John Sheild, Esq., PURE LINCOLN RAMS. 5 4-toothed Rams 7 2-toothed Rams These Sheep are bred by Mr Sheild, and are the progeny of Ewes and Rams imported by himself from some of the best flocks in England, and for fineness of wool cannot be equalled. A Ram of this breeding beat all comers at the Wanganui and Patea Shows this season, On account of R. E. Mcßae, Esq., PURE ROMNEY MARSH RAMS. 8 Romney Marsh Ram Lambs These sheep are out of ewes bred by J. Ludlam, The Hntt, Wellington, by rams from the flock of Major Willis, Rangitikei, Also, on account of R. B. Pearce, Esq., 10 PURE-BRED RAMS. Mr Pearce’s sheep gave general satisfaction last season, on account of the fineness of the wool, and the fattening qualities of the slock. M. Williams, Esq., Te Ante, Hawke’s Bay 2000 |-bred Lincoln Ewes, from the celebrated flock of C. Mackersey, Esq., Waipukurau, Hawke’s Bay. 420 Lambs, nearly pure Lincolns, mixed sexes, well-grown 250 Fat Sheep, very prime The Whole of these Sheep are Guaranteed Free from Scab. ITS PECULIAR MERITS. 1. It is not poisonous in use, 2. The appearance of the wool is improved in a remarkable manner, and is rendered white and glossy, while retaining the natural grease of the animal. 3. It mixes at once with cold water, and becomes instantly white like milk. 4. Being sold in a concentrated form, one gallon will make from 80 to 100 gallons when diluted for a sheep dip. 5.
