Freeman B. Jackson’s .Fortnightly Stock Beport. Wanganui, February 8. The sale at Hawera oh' Friday last passed off well ; the bidding was brisker than usual, and all'the dolfc were sold at the auction. At the yards to-day a.large entry of sheep came forward, and prices were a little, easier. The imported rams made a good market, with keen competition. Cattle are at late values. - Cattle. —At Hawera 280 head were yarded—Bullocks,"£6 7s 6d ; fat cows, £4 2s 6d to £5 5s ; steers, £3 10s to £4 12s ; cows and calves,. £4.6s ; cows, £3 2s 6d to £3 10s. At the yards to-day 242 were penned—Fat cows £5 to £5 15s ; wellbred heifers, £4 2s 6d ; bullocks, £5 8s ; cows, £3 2a 6d to £4 os ; yearlings, £2 6s to £2 10s.

Sheep.— At the St. Hill-street yards today 3750 came forward—Fat sheep, 10s 6d ; best ewes, lls ; fair ewes, 7s 9d ; lambs, 6s to 6s 9d ; imported Lincoln rams, £3 15s to £B. Land. —Mr Wright’s farm brought ill 2s fid per acre, Mr Ohubbin being the purchaser. Exports. —3o cattle and 750 sheep. At my next sale in Wanganui I shall offer 70 pure-bred imported Lincoln rams, and 60 pure-hred imported Romney Marsh rams, carefully selected by one of tlie best judges in Canterbury. Sheep-farmers must produce clean certificates for all sheep offered at my sale yards, as it is necessaiy for copies to be taken before a travelling certificate is issued. Vendors will kindly pay especial attention to tins rule.
