Musical Competitions. Christchurch.—Messrs Joubert and Twopeny intend holding a grand competitive musical festival, lasting a week, during the exhibition. There will bo gold, silver, and bronze medals for class singing, band contests, vocal and instrumental solos, school and children’s glees. The contests will be open to the colony. Found Drowend. Blenheim.—The body of a man about So years of age was found in Opari river this morning. It is unidentified as yet. Lyttelton Graving Dock. Christchurch. —The last stone of the Lyttelton graving dock was laid on Saturday.
