The Premier in Auckland.

LAND BOARD AND ROTORUA RAILWAY. The Premier and Attorney-General received a number of deputations in Auckland on the 2nd. The directors of the Rotorua Railway Company waited on them with the object of inducing the Government to prevent the Waste Lands Board dealing with land adjacent to the proposed line, which may he required by the company under the provisions of the District Railways Act. The Premier promised to temporarily stay the action of the board, and consult with the Minister of Lands. RAILWAY RECLAMATION. A deputation from the Chamber o Commerce urged the necessity for completion of railway reclamation and speedy construction of the Cambridge-Rotorua road. Mr Hall said the Government could not do more re reclamation than they were doing at present, but. in three mouths the ground would be ready for the erection of a station. He said the Government had to act cautiously re the Rotorua road to avoid complication with the natives. Auckland-Taranaki Railway. The deputation also urged on the Premier the advisability of at once proceeding with the Auckland-! aranaki Railway. Mr Hall replied that the Government were impressed with the importance of the work, and the necessity ot proceeding with it, even though a fresh loan had to be contracted.
