AMENDED PATENT LAW.

By the Patent Act Amendment Act of 1881, the patent fees are fixed at £1 on deposit of specification, and £2 on receipt of letters patent. * The original patent peiiod is extended to five years, and the fee for renewal reduced to £7. Notices are simplified, and need only be published in the Gazette. The applifor patents do not suffer as of old, for anything omitted not through their default. The fee for amending a specification is 10s, and the fees for lodging objections and for petitioning for extensions are £2.
