Hack Hurdle Race, of 10 sovs. ; entrance, 1 sov.; post entry ; one mile and a distance ; weights not less than lOst. For all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted. To start at 12 o’clock. 3. Flying Handicap, of 30 sovs.; f-mile ; nomination, 1 sov. ; acceptance, 2 sovs. Winner of any handicap of the value of 30 sovs. or more after declaration ’of weights to carry 51b. extra. To start at 12.30 o’clock. 4. Hack Race, of 7 sovs. ; distance about 1 mile ; entrance, 1 sov. Post entry. For all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted. To start at 1.15 o’clock. 5. Egmont Handicap, of 100 sovs.; second horse to receive 20 sovs. from; the stakes; nomination, 2 sovs. : acceptance, 4 sovs. ; distance, 2 miles. Winner of any handicap of the value : of 100 sovs. or more after declaration of weights to carry 51b. extra. To start at 2 o’clock. 6. Railway Plate, of 30 sovs.; 1£ miles ; weight for age; entrance, 2 sovs. To start at 3 o’clock. 7. District Race Handicap, of 40 sovs.; distance, 2 miles ; nomination, 1 sov.; acceptance, 2 sovs. Open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entry by bond fide residents who have been living between the White Cliffs and the Manawafu River for that time. Winner of Egmont Handicap to carry 61b. extra. To start at 4 p.m. 8. Consolation Stakes Handicap, of 20 sovs.; for all beaten horses ; 1 mile ; and a distance ; nomination, 1 sov.; acceptance, 1 sov. To start at 4.45 o’clock. RULES. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority ■■ of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all poinls connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, , , All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon; Secretary,_ HawerA; money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in . case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner,' and colors of the rider, i ■ Any jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined 3 sovs, When two or more horses start, the property, of the same owner, a distinguishing color must be worn. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of - 2 sovs. to the race fund. , : All races to be run under the W.J.C. • Rules. ; Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. ~ Qualification Fee for Non-members, iH; No other nominations will be received under, any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the postmark of the date of entry,-and telegrams-o£-the same -- date, will be received. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting, or', refusing to comply; with this rule, shall pay' a fine of 5 sovs.. to the race fund. : The second horse saves his stakes in all races, except otherwise stated. Nominations for the Handicap ■ Flying Handicap, Egmont Handicap, and District Race Handicap, will close at the Hon. Secretary’s Office, Hawera, on the 6th March, at 9 p.m. Weights declared, , on 13th March. Acceptances arid general entries will close on 18tb March, at the Hon.
