This Afternoon.

Land Leaguers. London, 20th.—The Irish Execute has decided that Parnell, O’Brien, and O’Kelly, land leaguere, shall be detained in custod for a further period of three months. At the expiration of that time they will be released. Assassins in Russia. St Petersburg, 20th. —The would-be assassins of General Tcherevine, assistant Minister of the Interior, have been found guilty. One is sentenced to death, and the other to twenty years imprisonment. Ulster Land Agitation. London, 21st.—A large meeting; attended by two thousand delegates of Ulster farmers, was held to-day at Belfast, when resolutions were passed in favor of extension of the Irish Land Act so as to provide for the appointment of Land Commission for each county in Ireland, instead of for large districts only, as at present. The meeting further resolved that reductions in rents which have been made by Land Courts up to the present time were totally inadequate,in view of the circumstances of Irish tenants.

Agitation in Bosnia. Vienna, 20th.—Telegrams are to band reporting that the inhabitants of the province of Bosnia are at present much disturbed against Austrian rule. French Constitution. , Paris, 21st.—The committee appointed by Chamber of Deputies to report on Gambetta’s Bill for revision of the French constitution concluded its labors, after being addressed by Gambetta at length in support of the principles of the measure. The committee resolved to recommend to the chamber the adoption of a counter scheme of reform, and one which ignores the proposal far adoption of the scrutin de liste. Captain Censured. Sydney, this day.—The certificate of Captain McLean, of the steamship Wotonga, has been suspended by the Marino Board for three months. The case of the mate will be decided by the Board to-day.

Help for the Jews. London, 22nd.—A meeting to be held at the Mansion House has been convened by the Lord Mayor, for the purpose of raising funds to assist the persecuted Jews of Russia.

Rising in AustriaVienna, 22nd.—The rising oh inhabitants of Dalmatia, Herzegovina, and Bosnia, is rapidly spreading over those provinces, and insurgents are actively organising to oppose the Austrian troops. Protest from Russia. St. Petersburg, 22nd. —The Journal de St. Petersburgh, in an article to-day, fiercely denounces the movement in London to raise subscriptions for Bussian Jews, and says the agitation is founded upon the hatred of Englishmen for Russia. Large Ship Ashore. Melbourne, this day.—Telegrams are to hand reporting that a large ship, name unknown, is ashore in "Waratah Bay, on the southern coast of this colony. The vessel’s position is statedto be not dangerous. Quarantine Passengers. Melbourne.—First and second class passengers per Garronne. will be released from quarantine to-day. ■ f Fighting in Turkey; London, 23.—The Standard to-day publishes a telegram stating that rebellion has broken out against Turkish rule in Yemen province, in south-west Arabia, and that seven battles have been fought between the insurgents and Turkish, troops, resulting in defeat of the insurgents with fully 200 killed.
