Tenders for erecting premises for the Bank of Australasia at Hawera are said to be all declined. The Star says nearly one hundred sittings are already taken in the new English church at Hawera. Several correspondents “ want to know, you know,” when the annual meeting of subscribers to the Institute comes off. They say they mean to go in for a clean sweep, and make the place a credit instead of a failure., The committee should meet this month and prepare a report to be laid before the annual meeting of subscribers. But subscribers are getting less and less under the present management.
