Court Jurisdiction
The following letter has been received by Mr S. Taplin from the Under-Secre-tary of the Minister of Justice : Wellington, 4th Jany. Sir, —In reply to your letter of the 22nd November last, forwarding a petition that the jurisdiction of the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Patea be extended to one hundred pounds (£100), I am directed by Mr Dick to inform yon that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to extend the jurisdiction of the Court to that amount.
