United Ireland , the organ of the Irish Land League, has been printed in London in defiance of the recent mandate of Government prohibiting publication, but the whole of the copies were promptly seized by the police. A Sparrow Club has been formed for the Waitaki district, South Island. The club has purchased 2970 eggs and 467 heads of small birds already. The King of Ashantee recently killed 200 young girls for the purpose of using their blood for mixing of mortar for the repairs on one of his State buildings.
