This Afternoon. STABBING AT OPUNAKI. Opunaki. —• James Henry, coach driver, was arrested for stabbing a man here on Sunday, and is now remanded to New Plymouth. Shipwreck. The ship Phases, which arrived from Calcutta on Saturday night, picked up a boat holding the master, second mate, and 10 of the crew of the Dutch ship Ablasserward, 1,256 tons, bound from Shields to Batavia, with coals. The vessel was found on fire Nov. 26, in 80 deg. E., and was abandoned by her crew on Nov. 28. The mate, third mate, and nine of the crew took to one of the boats, but nothing was seen of their boat after nightfall on November 28, and it is hoped that she has reached either St. Paul’s or Amsterdam islands, which were comparatively close.
