Sin, — I hereby Apologise for the Statements made by me at the sitting of the Licensing Bench on Tuesday, the 6th instant, with reference to my having seen you at the bedroom door of a young lady in my Hotel, the same having been made thoughtlessly, and I now Withdraw all Statements made, and assert that there is no foundation in truth for any of the statements then or on Sunday last made by me aspersing your character, and that they were Untrue ; and I enclose herewith £2 2s to pay your costs of advertising, &c., in this matter.
