Patea R.M. Court.

Tuesday, before Mr C. A. Wray, R.M. LETT V. ODGERS. This was a claim for £36 2s, wages due as arrears and partly in lien of notice, the plaintiff being manager of a sodawater manufactory for defendant, under agreement. Mr Hamerton appeared for plaintiff Defendant asked for a remand, Mr Barton being retained to defend the case, but having gone to Auckland on urgent business, he had defendant’s books in his office, and the defence could not be entered into without the books, which would show good reason for discharging the plaintiff. Mr Hamerton objected to adjournment, but the Court granted it till Tuesday next.
