NORMANBY.
(from our correspondent.) We have been considerably diverted hero by the action of your Mr Dale against the proprietor of the “ Mail.” Attempts to stifle honest expressions of opinion on matters purely public are always unj opnlar, and coming from such a quarter are doubly so, as Mr Dale, in his public capacity, is looked upon as very small potatoes. His action upon the Hawera and Normanby districts, while in the County Council, will long be held by us in bitter and unfailing remembrance. With three candidates before us for Eginont, we are likely to have lively times of it as soon as the effervescence of military ardour has subsided.
