The statement about gravel being, removed from Harbor Board reserves is r thus answered. Mr P. O’S M’Car thy has shown os a receipt for 400 yds of gravel, £lO, paid to the Board Sept. 28th ; and he-says no gravel was removed from the reserve before Sept. Ist. Mr Sherwood left the Board long before that date. Mr Dale will see how easy it is to be misled, and how easy it is to libel an opponent. Of course, such mistakes at election timss ought to be and are regarded leniently.
Mr Dale’s statement about the Harbor Board., punt being used without payment, through Mr Sherwood’s negligence, is answered, im a letter from Downes, Proctor, & Co., giving a .very different account of ’the transaction. Mr Dale is unhappy in his attacks oh. other persons. The letter will appear in next issue.
