CATHOLIC LAND SOCIETY,
A Land Society has originated in Wellington, having for its objects the acquisition of land to be sold to the working classes on easy terms, and at the same time to enable them, As shareholders, to have their part in the profits ; to lend money at interest for educational or church purposes ; to receive money on deposit at interest, and to grant loans on approved security, and to provide an annual sum as an endowment for Catholic schools. In the preliminary prospectus the promoters state that they have under offer blocks of land varying from 10,000 to 200,000 acres, which can be acquired at extremely low rates. Bishop Redwood has approved of the project and purposes becoming a shareholder.
