Mail Steamer Struck.
Melbourne, This Day. Telegrams are to hand from Port Darwin, announcing that the Eastern and Australian Mail Steamship Company’s steamer Brisbane, bound from Hong Kong to Brisbane, has struck on a reef in Clarence Strait, about thirty miles from Port Darwin. Assistance has been sent from the latter place, and as the weather is fine it is hoped the steamer may be got off without injury.
