Last Night’s Cables.

Intelligence is to hand from Ireland that renewed riots, directed against the proceea servers, have occurred at several places in that country. The most serious disturbances have occurred at Roscrea, Mohill, and Blara. News has also been received of a dastardly outrage on a landlord’s residence at New Pallas. A barrel of gunpowder was exploded near the house, and caused its partial destruction. The perpetrators of the outrage have not yet been discovered. At the London wool sale Sept. 29th 7,800 bales were offered. The tone of the auction was rather weaker. 24,009 bales have been withdrawn from sale since the commencement of the series.

The Wanganui County Council has been convened to consider the best means of expending the £2OOO voted by the Government, for the Murimotu track. Up to the present time the wheat crop in the Auckland district gives every promise of being good.
