Mr Woolcock, ex-M.H.R., delivered a lecture at Mace & Bassett’s camp on Tuesday evening ; subject, “ Public affairs in general, present political situation in particular.” He endeavoured to show how public interests were sacrificed on the altar of party strife. The lecture was interesting, and somewhat instructive. He proposes to deliver several lectures shortly, commencing at Norraanby. Mr Woolcock has resigned Ids position under the Public Works Department, —■ —.
