PARLIAMENT.

(Press Association Telegrams.') This Day. BILLS ABANDONED, SESSION CLOSE NEXT WEEK. The Premier announced the Government would for this session abandon with regret the Hospital Aid Bill, and also the Crown and Native Lands Rating Bill, Roads Construction Bill, Sharebrokers Act Repeal Bill, and Patents Act Amendment Bill. Proposals had been made to refer the Corrupt Practices Bill to a select committee, and to-morrow he would announce what was intended to be done. The Public Works Act Amendment Bill and the Companies Act Amendment Bill would be likely to give rise to so much discussion that there was little hope of passing them. If they would not be much opposition, Government would try to pass the Fisheries and Friendly Societies Bill, and also the Town Districts and . Counties Ac Amendment Bill. If possible, the other Consolid tion Bills might be passed in a morning sitting, and if members would summarise their remarks the Estimates might be got through this week, and the prorogation take place about the middle of next week.
