SELLING HONORARIUMS.

A Wellington correspondent says there is a lively enquiry being instituted in the House of Lords. Two hon. gentlemen arc accused of having—at a time when the honorarium of the Council was said to be in danger, owing to a reduction abont to be made in the House in Committee-of Supply—sold their honorarium for £l5O each to an enterprising member of the Lower House. The honorarium of the Council was not touched, and the enterprising member netted some £BO. One of the hon. gentlemen would not pay, ns he affected to consider the matter as a joke; the other, however, did the honorable thing, and wrote ont a cheque for the difference. The Council, when it hoars of this, lifts up its hands in horror, and is determined to wipe ont the stain, even if it results in wiping ont a member or two.
