TARANAKI HARBOR PREPARATIONS.

The Herald of the 27th says —The plant in the mixing house at the Harbor works will be completed on Tuesday, when the operation of making cement blocks will bo more expeditiously performed. The portion of the machinery already erected has been tried, and works very satisfactorily. The reservoir has been completed and the pipes laid down to the mixinghouse, so that during next week the wonderful labor-saving plant will be in readiness for working. It is to be hoped that now the machinery is completed, and ever}' preparation made for the construction of a harbor in a manner never before attempted in the Australasian colonies, that the Legislature will not suddenly stop the work which, if carried out successfully, will reflect credit upon the whole Colony fer the enterprise and energy of its inhabitants.
