WEST COAST MEMBERS.

ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES,

The promised schedule of electorates is now published as part of the Representation Bill, which was to be considered last night in committee. There are to be 91 separate electorates, one member to each ; and the population is so divided that the electorates are estimated to average, with slight variations, about 25 per cent, more in town districts than in country electoral districts. The constituencies on this Coast are rearranged to this extent, that Grey and ißell is to be known as Taranaki, New Plymouth town is to include as many voters in the suburbs ns shall entitle it to a member, and Egmont extends to the southern boundary of the Province, as before. The effect is to reduce the number within Egmont district to 5,407, being less than the actual population of Patea County, which three months ago was 5,970, and is now over 6,000. The south end of the County goes with Wanganui district, which is to be divided in two portions. The town of Wanganui is to form a separate electorate, by including as many suburban voters as will bring the total up to 4,643. The remainder of Wanganui County and the Waverley portion of Patea County are to form one extended electorate, to be known as Waitotara district. The West Coast and Wellington provincial district are arranged into 14 electorates, thus:— Popltn.Mem, Taranaki (taking in part of Egmont ... ... 5,422 —1 New Plymouth (town and suburbs) ... ... 4,020 —I Egmont (reduced at North end) ...
