Patea B.M. Court.
Friday, before Dr Croft and R. O. Tennnent, J.P’s. Hem/ Wilson, bricklayer, sued J. Reid, cai penter, for labor done. There was a disputed balance of account. Judgment for £3 ; cost* divided. W. Palmer, Waverley, sued H. Rieely for £1 lls, the cost of cutting fences at sixpence a clinm. Defendant had leased tho land from Pr’mer under agreement to ti ira fences once a j’ear, but pleaded ho was not liable for cutting both sides of a boundary fence, and had trimmed one side. Mr Hamerton, for plaintiff, said tho agreement must be insisted on. Judgment for amount and costs.
R. Wright, Kakaramea, sued R. E. Mcßae for £l4, wages duo. The amount was disputed. Judgment for £2 15s; costs divided. The case of assaulting a bailiff’s assistant while in lawful possession was again brought on, under a summons against Brown for a common assault. It was objected by Mr Hamerton that time had not been allowed to prepare the defence. Mr Connolly said that as Brown had lost his wife the summons would be withdrawn.
