The Mail has now been one year under the proprietary management of Mr Houghton, and the public will have formed an opinion as to the fairness, the independence, and the efficiency of the Mail as a district newspaper. It is hoped the time is not distant when increasing public support will enable this journal to be published daily; The one object aimed at is to identify the Mail with the permanent interests of the Patea district, and to advocate their development by such political forces as may be-availablc, without setting up unfair preference for any political party. SUPPLEMENTS to the County Mail are in preparation, and will be presented weekly ; containing Literary- Selections, short Stories, Wit and Hnraor, and an interesting miscellany of reading matter.
