WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken under “ The Public Works Act, 1876,” and “ The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act 1878,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads in the Wairoa Survey District, Provincial District of Wellington : And whereas the Wairoa Highway Board has laid before the Governor the memorial and map mentioned in and signed and certified as required by the said Acts: Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by sections twenty-one, twentytwo, twenty-three, twenty-four, and twenty-five of “ The Public works Act, 1876,” and by section twenty-eight of “ The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878,” and of any other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and that, from and after the seventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, and interests of what kind soever, for use as a road. SCHEDULE. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 2Q perches, more or less, situate in the Survey District of Wairoa, Provincial District of Wellington, being portions of Sections Nos. 164 and 349, Blocks I. and VI. Bounded—Generally Easterly by Sections No. 164, 510, 187, 255, 610, 582, 412, 294, 473, 120, and 220 links, by Kolii Stream 10 links, by Section No. 349 122, 248, and 701 link# respectively ; generally Northerly by Government road-line 100 links; generally Westerly by Section No. 349, 718, 258, and 100 links, by Kohi Stream 10 links, by Section No. 164 242, 151, 202, 281, 301, 406,555,525, 190, 230, 331 links, and by Government road 233 links respectively, to commencing point.
