A small boy rose at a Sunday school meeting and began to recite glibly—“A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell—and fell ” —here his memory began to fail him—“and fell by the roadside, and the thorns sprang tip and choked him.” Little Dunce (looking up suddenly from her history book) : Oh mummy, darling, I' do so wish I’d lived under James the Second ! Mamma : Why ? Little Dunce : Because I see here that education was very much neglected during his reign !
