FRENCH STEAM SERVICE.
The French-Australian line of steamers between France and New Caledonia, via Australia, which is undertaken by the Messageries Maritimes will commence about the middle of next year. A fleet of steamers is being built, which will bear names appropriate to the service. The first three to arrive will be the Natal, the Melbourne, and the Sydney. The vessels will start from Marseilles, and touch at Reunion, calling afterwards at Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, on their way to New Caledonia.
