HALLELUJAH LASSES.
For some time past a small but noisy band of singers and preachers named “ The Hallelujah Lasses” have nightly paraded the streets of the Scottish town of Airdrie, and at times have attracted considerable crowds. Recently a new feature was introducedinto the “service” by an attempt of some of the more zealous office-bearers to chastise a young regenade who had deserted from their ranks. He had to take shelter from their fury in a tavern in Anderson Street, and when he attempted to leave, in running across Bank Street he was cleverly tripped up. He at last obtained •safety in the back room of a draper’s shop, the ?‘band” passing up the street singing “ Hold the Fort,” arid followed by-a large crowd.
