“ Speactator,” in a Wanganui journal, says—Mr Watkins informs me that the money won by Wilkinson, who is now undergoing a sentence of two years orf embezzlement, was forwarded a short time ago to his wife, at Hawera. One of the authorities in Wanganui, on learning that 'Wilkinson was entitled to receive a prize, entered a verbal protest with the sweep promoters against the money being paid away, but Mr Jackson did what in my opinion was quite right by settling in the way I have mentioned.
