Patea Town Board.
The Board’s adjourned monthly meeting was held on Monday evening. Present, Messrs Milroy (in the chair), Adams Aitchison, Howitt, Dixon, and Sherwood. TRANSFER OF LEASES. The Board granted transfers of leases from E. C. Horner to A. Gower, a portion of lot 2, section 2, block 36 ; from S. Taplin to T. Haywood, junr., sections 1, 2, 3, and 14, block 38 ; from P. Larsen to J. Jackson, sections 6 and 7, block 38. REPAIRING VICTORIA STREET. Mr Dixon called attention to the state of Victoria-street. The sand having blown from the old cutting, the road is now almost impassable beyond the bridge. A few loads of clay would do some good. Chairman : If we had the permanent levels of the street, something might bo done. Mr Adams: The sand should be shifted. Mr Slier wood moved that the Woi'ks Committee be asked to endeavor to make Victoria-street passable during the coming winter. It is about the most thickly populated part of the town. A little clay might make the road passable. Mr Adams seconded, and the motion was adopted.
