RECEIVED LAST NIGHT. ( Reuter's Despatches to the Mail.) OFFICIAL CHANGES. London, 7th, It is officially announced that the Earl of Dnfferin, at present British Ambassador at St. Petersburg, Avill succeed the Right Hon. G. J. Goschen as Ambassador at Constantinople, after the Turko-Greek difficulty has received final settlement. The Right Hon. Sir Edward Thornton, at present British Minister to the United States, will succeed Lord Dnfferin at the Russian Court. The Marquis of Salisbury has assumed the leadership of the Conservative party in the House of Lords. GLADSTONE AILING. London, 7th. Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone is at present indisposed, but the illness is not of such a nature as to cause alarm. THE FRENCH QUARREL. Paris, 7th. M. Barthehny St. Hilaire, Minister for Foreign Affairs, made a statement to-day regarding the intentions of the Government towards Tunis. He announced that after the Tunisian tribe of Kronmirs had been punished by French troops the expedition Avould terminate, and diplomatic negotiations with the Bey would follow. REFORM IN RUSSIA. St. Petersburg, 6th. It is rumored that the Czar, Alexander 111., has formed a complete programme of reform to be instituted in the government of Russia. BOERS IN TROUBLE. Natal, 6th. The relations between the Boers and natives continue in a most unsatisfactory state, and the latter uoav threaten to rise against the Boers after the British troops are Avithdrawn. Capetown, 6th. A political crisis has occurred here. The Ministry of the Hon. J. Gordon Sprigg has resigned. SPORTING. London, 6th. The race for the One Thousand Guineas Stakes was run to-day at Newmarket, and was Avon by Thebais, Avith Thora second, and Bal Ga! third.
