At the Albion reef at Terawliiti a shaft has been sunk eighty feet, cutting the reef at sixty feet. A drive westward is now being made to cut lire reef at twenty feet. The stone presented an encouraging appearance. Certain of the Sydney Civil servants have received an official notice that, should it be discovered they borrow from money-lenders on the security of their salaries, they will render themselves liable to dismissal. According to the Thitrs correspondent at ■ Cairo Town “ Bir Hercules Robinson has made a favourable impression at the Cape, and there is a pretty general feeling of satisfaction that an administrator of such large and sound judgment is at the head of affairs at a critical time.
