Colonial Fkoluatlox. —A new weekly journal has been issued iu Melbourne, entitled the Federal Australian. The main object of the new paper is to advocate the federation of the Australian colonies, and to accustom the minds of its readers to look upon Australia in the light of a nation, rather than that of a series of small communities, with conflicting interests, hostile tariffs, &c.
It is reported that Lottie Wilmot proceeds for libel against the Napier Telegraph and half a dozen other southern papers.
