An authority in accoustics, points out the following as the remedy for the accoustic defects of the new Wellington Courthouse—Take the high dado away, plaster the walls, and drape the windows, and the echo is gone. The Taranaki News says—A good deaf* has been said about the Queens’s writ not running the length and breadth of the Colony, and this would appear to be the case. A European who for a time resided in New Plymouth, had a warrant issued against him for not satisfying a claim. Ho coolly proceeded to the Magistrates’ office and threatened to shoot the man who dared to servo the warrant on him. He then went to a Maori settlement, and the warrant remains unserved.
