RECEIVED LAST NIGHT. {Renter's Desputcehs to the Mail.) Mr PARNELL on the LAND BILL. London, 11th. Mr Parnell has written a letter on the subject of the Irish Land Bill which has boon introduced in the House of Commons. He says the measure is seriously defective, and the good derivable from it depends entirely upon the firmness of the people in their adherence to the Land League. He denounces the clauses of the bill providing for the making of grants to facilitate emigration. BEACONSFIBLD RECOVERING. London, 11th. A bulletin issued this evening reports Earl Beaconsfiold is now regaining strength, and making progress towards recovery. LOCAL WINES. Melbourne, Wednesday. Exhibition awards are announced to Messrs Schwartz and Co., Christchurch, for Wanganui wines, one-fourth and three-fifth orders of merit; James Smith, Nelson, fourth and fifth orders of merit for wines; Joseph Solar, Wanganui, fifth order of merit for wine. POLITICS IN VICTORIA. Melbourne, Wednesday. The conference of two Houses, after throe sittings, failed to arrive at an understanding on the Reform Bill. Parliament has adjourned for a fortnight.
