LAND SALE.

The sale of land in the Kaupokonui, Ngaire, and Waimate Blocks, took place at Hawera on Tuesday, Mr C. A. Wray .being auctioneer. Fourteen sections found purchasers, the purchase money amounting to over £3,600 for an area of 1,600 acres. The attendance was fair.

For the information of intending purchases and the general public, Mr Wray mentioned that Government proposed to undertake work in connection with the various blocks as follows—Manaia road to be cleared and made practicable up to Hursthonse’s line ; Ahipaipa road to be cleared and made practicable from Skeet road up to Hurstbouse’s line. A bridge already in hand to be built over the Inaha stream ; the northern boundary of the block to be cleared two chains wide, and with the prospect in time to come of a railway being made along it to Manaia road; Hursthouse’s line to be cleared and formed from Waingongoro to the Manaia road. Although the auctioneer offered to re-offer any unsold section, no such request was made. The following wore purchasers : Kaupokonui, Block 15. Sec. Acres. Upset.
